The Bridge.
When the wind pouring through the narrow bay inlet rises to about 30 miles per hour, the whole two-mile bridge resonates with an eerie call so loud it can be heard throughout the whole city and as far as Berkley. The guard rails’ engineers had inadvertently created the largest instrument in the world...
The Storm Orchestra.
"The Storm Orchestra" (TSO) is a library of virtual instruments–based on field recordings from the west coast of Ireland–that allows users to “play” a coastal storm by manipulating wave and clast sounds. It is an accessible product that allows anyone to interact creatively with, and thus learn about, wave physics and coastal geomorphology.
Heracles.
"Heracles" is a children's play adapted from the greek myth of Heracles (known by the Latin name Hercules) by playwright Judith White. The play was performed in the Summer of 2022 by Traveling Players Ensemble with original music by Nathan Liang.

Atalanta.
"Atalanta" is the story of the epic greek heroine. Adapted for childrens' performance by playwrite Judith White, the play was performed by the Traveling Player's Ensemble in the summer of 2021 with an original orchestral score by Nathan.

Stargirl scoring competition.
Nathan entered Spitfire Audio's scoring competition in 2021 with this submission. Stargirl is a DC superhero show originally scored by Pinar Toprak.

The hotline club.
"The Hotline Club" is a short film directed by Isaac Karliner-Li and scored by Nathan Liang. It depicts the story of a high school student's suicide and the reactions of his classmates. The score draws on klezmer music to emphasize the duality of humor and grief present in the story.

Persephone.
"Persephone" is a children's play based on the ancient greek story of Hades' abduction of Persephone. The production was performed over ZOOM during the 2020 quarantine, accompanied by musical character themes and backing tracks created by Nathan Liang.

100 days.
Starting in March of 2021, Nathan wrote and produced an original orchestral piece every day for 100 days, realizing the works with virtual instruments. Once a week, Nathan would instead synthestrate an existing orchestral piece (either by reading the score or by ear) as an exercise in score-reading and aural comprehension, and to gain a deeper understanding of orchestration, harmony, and melody writing.
